Regular session of Committee on Political Technologies of the Russian Association on Public Relations (RASO) held on August 17 was dedicated to educational standards, educational programmes and up-grading  qualification in the area of political consultancy.

The following participants took part in the meeting: Aleksandr Yuriev, founder of political psychology in USSR and founder of Political Psychology Department at Saint Petersburg State University, professor, PhD in Psychological Sciences; Yevgeny Suchkov, author of a classic monography ‘Political Technologies’; Sergey Tolmachev, Director of Vertikal Social Communication Agency, Chairperson of Commission on Life Safety and Ecology of Krasnoyarsk Municipal Council of Delegates, author of book ‘Ten Steps along a Vertical’; Andrey Degtyarev, Professor of Politology Department of Moscow State Institute of International Relationship (University) of Ministry of International Affairs of Russia and Applied Politology Department  of Scientific Research University of High Economic School, author of monography ‘Making Political Decision’; Stanislav Koryakin, PR Specialist, Advisor to Deputy CEO System Operator of Unified Energy System.

In particular, Aleksandr Yuriev, began his speech with his letter as of 1979 to Political Bureau of Central Committee of Soviet Union Communist Party (SUCP) wherein he had warned that war in Afghanistan would be lost. According to him, still in 1985 he conducted a research why in 1990 there will be neither USSR, nor SUCP. As history showed, he was mistaken only for one year.

When commenting the even held, Yevgeny Minchenko, President of MINCHENKO CONSULTING Communication Holding, said that notwithstanding a vacation season this meeting was really packed, ‘Usually, two thirds of the registered arrive. While today the number of visitors is by one third more’.
