He is a Professor, PhD in Phsycology, Professor of Russian Politics Sub-faculty of Political Science Department of Saint Petersburg State University, Chief of Political Consultancy Laboratory of Saint Petersburg State University. He is the founder of the first in Russia Political Psychology Department in Saint Petersburg State University and has been its Chief since 1989. He was born on October 6, 1942.
He was formed as a scientist and an educational specialist under the influence of Acad. Ananiev B.G. and under the direction of Prof. Ganzen V.A. He considers himself to be a successor of V.M. Bekhterev’s work as the first political psychologist in Russia, author of ‘Collective Reflexoloty’ (1923) and V.G. Leibnitz being the author of consciousness concept (‘New Experiments on a Human Mind’, 1685). Having graduated from the University, he was engaged into professional psychological selection and specialized psychological training of experts for extreme types of activity. He is a prize-winner of Prize of Council of Ministers of the USSR for elaborations in special psychology area.
He is an author of monographs ‘Introduction into Political Psychology’ (Leningrad, 1992), and ‘System Description of Political Psychology’ (Saint Petersburg, 1997), author and editor of a collective monograph ‘Strategic Psychology of Globalization: Human Capital Psychology’ (Saint Petersburg, 2006). He is an author of ‘Psychologist’ Ethical Code of the RF’ adopted by Congress of Russian Psychologists’ Society. He initiated training of specialists in psychological and political consultancy of political parties, public figures and state persons in universities. He supervised training of five Doctors of Philosophy and twenty-five Candidates of Psychological Sciences by training 19.00.12 (Political Psychology) who successfully defended their theses.
In 1986, he began scientific and practical activity as a political consultant. He introduced the notion of a ‘team’ and described technology of its forming. He developed a methodology of political documents execution: party and candidate programs. He developed and repeatedly used methods of preparing politicians to public performance, interviews, discussions on television and appearance at mass-meetings. Since 1986, he has been working on psychological and political retraining of party and state leaders of federal and regional levels in ‘Dunes’ Training Center near Leningrad. Since 1991, he has been leading training of the first enrollment of governors of Russia and Representatives of the President of the RF in ‘Osinovaya Roscha’ Training Center. From 1993 to 1996, he worked as a counselor to Chairperson of Government of the RF V.S. Chernomyrdin. Since October 1999 to 2005, he worked as an expert of Strategic Developments Center at Yakimanka, Moscow, he also worked as a member of Coordination Council on Social Strategy at Chairperson of Federation Council of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
